Mediation has grown as an effective method to reduce costs and quickly resolve conflicts.  It is the process by which an experienced  representative (a mediator) who is neutral and impartial meets with the affected parties and helps to facilitate communication and negotiation to resolve the dispute.   It is the goal of  Shaun K. Boss, APC  to provide the strong legal representation of a large firm but, give individual counsel and the direction necessary to resolve matters in dispute.   Our primary focus is to provide experienced  representation, create viable solutions and help reduce legal costs.  

 

Today's  real estate and construction contracts frequently include a clause requiring mediation prior to arbitration or litigation.  In many cases a mediator is selected from a panel of specialists in that field.  Mr. Boss has been arbitrating and mediating cases in construction, real estate and business law for more than 17 years. 

Mediation permits a free exchange and discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of  the case.  Mr. Boss, through his education and training, has insight on a variety of techniques which allow him to assist clients by developing creative ways to reach a successful resolution of disputes through the mediation process.   He focuses the involved parties on identifying the key issues of a dispute and how it might be resolved in a timely and creative manner.

Mr. Boss is experienced in facilitating mediations and maintains active memberships with several professional organizations.  In addition to his legal and technical experience,  Mr. Boss is a panel member of the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC), a panel member of the San Diego Superior Court mediation and arbitration panels, a panel member of the Real Estate Mediation Center, of the San Diego Association of Realtors (SDAR).  He authored, "Mediation - A Lawyer's Perspective", for the Journal of the Litigation Section, of the State Bar of California.  Mr. Boss is also a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR).
